Here's 5 Things You Should Know About the New Batman Movie

Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN film is a noir style experience and a version of the caped crusader that we have yet to really explore as a cinema audience. Much like our experiences with on-screen Jokers, we’ve seen adaptations and renditions of our come-to-life comic book characters but rarely have we seen anything play it this close to the pages, besides Zack Snyders Batman in 2016’s ‘Batman V Superman’ which borrowed much of it’s material and aesthetic from Frank Millers BATMAN: YEAR ONE graphic novel.

Before you watch THE BATMAN, here are 5 things you should know:

1.) Director Matt Reeves used NIRVANA’s music to inspire him while writing. He told Empire magazine, “When I write, I listen to music, and as I was writing the first act, I put on Nirvana’s ‘Something In The Way,’. which is also the music you hear during the trailer.

2.) The films version of “The Riddler” was inspired by films like Seven & Zodiac. Both movies revolve around the hunting for a serial killer.

3.) It’s not another Batman origin story. Its more of a “villains” origin story: Matt Reeves told reporters “The thing about the movie is that it isn’t a Batman origin story, but it is the origin story of every Rogue’s gallery character that you come across,”

4.) There’s a book with backstories that lead up to the films current events titled, “Before the Batman: An Original Movie Novel” – It’s on sale now.

5.) “The Long Halloween” Batman Comic Series has a lot to do with the creative direction of the film. You can watch Part 1 and Part 2 of the animated film now on HBO MAX.

This one isn’t exactly a numbered item on the list but if you’re wondering whether or not there is a POST-CREDIT scene after the film, we covered that too. You can click here for the answer to that riddle.

Riddle Me This: Does Batman Have a Post-Credit Scene?

SPOILER WARNING: POST CREDIT SCENE DESCRIBED IN ARTICLE. If you stay and wait until the credits have rolled following The Batman, you'll see a computer text, typed “Good bye” by who we assume is the Riddler (Paul Dano) with a question mark at the end, left open to interpretation. Maybe hinting toward a possible return for The Riddler. Then, the url for the “rataalada” ARG that Warner Bros used for marketing […]
